Operations Manager – City of Dickinson, ND

Dickinson, North Dakota, gateway to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and home to Dickinson State University, is a home rule city that services a population of 25,000-30,000. Dickinson is centrally located in southwestern North Dakota, the midpoint between Fargo, North Dakota and Billings, Montana. We are also located less than an hour’s drive from Lake Sakakawea, the largest of the mainstream reservoirs on the Missouri river, which is a wonderful fishing and recreation resource.
The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating, directing, facilitating, and managing the operation and maintenance activities of the City’s Street, Facility Maintenance, and Fleet Services Divisions of the Public Works Department. Work is performed under the general direction of the Public Works Director, although considerable latitude is allowed for independent judgment and initiative. May act on behalf of the Public Works Director in his absence. Responsibilities include the oversight of City street construction, repair and maintenance projects, snow removal operations, fleet program, facility maintenance, and cemeteries.

This full time position requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or business management and five to seven years progressively experience in municipal public works, engineering or related fields, including at least two years in a professional supervisory capacity.  An equivalent combination or education and experience that is sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Salary Range: $76,800(min)-$98,400(mid), plus an excellent benefits package.
