This position is responsible for the leadership, coordination and oversight of the Helena Public Works Department. It plans, directs, manages and oversee the programs, activities and operations of the department including Engineering, Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Utility Maintenance (water, wastewater and storm water) and Solid Waste Collection, Recycling and Transfer Station. This position coordinates activities with other City departments and outside agencies and provides highly responsible and complex support to the City Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:This position requires training equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering, business management, finance, public administration or a related field. A Master’s degree and or Lean certification is highly preferable. The position requires no less than six years of executive leadership experience including director and or assistant/deputy level positions.
Residency within Helena City limits is required within one (1) year of employment.
