Legislative Session Concludes - What's Next?
The 2025 Montana Legislative Session has officially concluded today with Sine Die, the Latin term, meaning "without a day," which signifies the adjournment of the legislature without a set date to reconvene for regular business.
With Sine Die, all bills passed during the session now head to the Governor for consideration. The Governor will review each piece of legislation and decide whether to sign it into law, veto it, or allow it to become law without a signature.
Throughout the session, the League has been hard at work tracking legislation that impacts our municipalities. We are now compiling a comprehensive report detailing the outcomes of the session and analyzing the potential effects on your communities. This report will be available soon!
Keep an eye out for that and please also join us for our upcoming Municipal Summits. We'll be offering a deep dive into key bills and discussing their implications for Montana cities and towns. LEARN MORE & REGISTER.
