This year, from October 2nd to 4th, nearly 450 Montana League members, partners, and an array of speakers gathered in picturesque West Yellowstone for the League's 93rd Annual Conference, LOCAL LEGACY, to celebrate Montana's history of local resilience and connection. Highlights included Superintendent of Yellowstone National Park, Cam Sholly's keynote presentation where he stressed the importance of building relationships before a crisis and a very special fireside chat between Cam and National League of Cities CEO and Executive Director, Clarence Anthony. The two leaders talked about striving for togetherness in a world often divided. Their exchange was equally informative and inspiring.
Conference goers had the option of choosing from 15 different breakout sessions to attend on topics like AI in Action, Affording Affordable Housing, and How to Win Infrastructure Money. And, of course, it would not be a League Conference without two supremely fun evenings of networking. Our first evening out took place at the iconic Old Faithful Lodge where many watched America's favorite geyser in action. Our second eventing was all about a night on the town in West Yellowstone which featured three different locations, lots of food, and tasty beverages.
