The City of Glasgow is seeking applicants for a Water and Sewer Operator position in the Public Works Department. Under the direction of the Water and Sewer Supervisor this position is responsible for operation and maintenance of the City’s water and sewer utilities, including water purification and distribution, and wastewater collection and treatment.
This position is full-time and may include off-hours call-outs, shift work, weekends and holidays. The position is covered by a union collective bargaining agreement. Starting pay is $27.72. Starting wage per hour may be higher depending on qualifications and experience. This position is required to have, or be able to obtain within 2 1/2 years, a Montana Class 2A and 1B water operator certifications and Montana Class 3C wastewater operator certification. Fifty cents per hour is added to the base pay for each of the three required certification upon successful completion. Benefits including retirement, health insurance, vacation, sick leave and other union-related benefits.
This position requires an Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The city will consider a training assignment. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check prior to hiring
