Senior Project Manager – Missoula

The City of Missoula seeks a collaborative, outgoing, and approachable proactive leader with strong communication skills to join the Public Works & Mobility team! The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable with the ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and contracts. They will have strong knowledge and experience with construction, construction management, multimodal transportation design, and federal funding requirements.  They will demonstrate strong technical expertise and experience, and an overall understanding of the duties and responsibilities that fall under the Project Manager.

The Public Works & mobility Senior Project Manager will report directly to the City Engineer for Surface Transportation. They will play a key role in our engineering team, overseeing and managing the planning, design, and construction of complex, multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects for the City, including federal grants and federal funding from the Montana Department of Transportation. Projects include the Downtown SAM RAISE Grant, South Avenue SS4A Grant, West Broadway/Toole/California Roundabout, and the Mullan/Flynn Lane Trail project.

Located downtown in City Hall, the Senior Project Manager can expect to spend significant time working directly with stakeholders, businesses, and residents of Missoula. This collaborative approach is crucial in coordinating projects and mitigating the impacts of construction.

** The posted wage range is the full starting range with specific starting wage determined by direct education and experience. Candidates who do not possess a State of Montana Professional Engineering License may be considered to start up to $49.17/hour and those who currently hold a State of Montana Professional Engineering License are eligible for higher compensation with a potential starting wage up to $52.85/hour.
